Android Live CD 0.2
Testing out the Android Live CD
Pretty cool!
Navigation was weird at first – i instinctively went for the mouse – but there is none. You move around with a combination of the arrow keys, enter, escape, and windows/menu keys.
Go Grab it yourself and give it a go!
Having used it for a bit this afternoon, I would say that if it ran briskly on a 1hgz P3 I would install it.
Although…that said my biggest deal-breaker is the lack of “SD Card” support. That being, I can’t trick it into thinking i have a giant SD card in there (and hence cannot install applications!). And I think Audio is still being worked on, so as soon as faux-SD card support + audio is live, we’re there.
Both are being worked on (and hopefully at least “SD Card” support) will be included in 0.3!
Cool, I didn’t know there was a live disk for Android!
I should really install this on my netbook, do a triple boot, and make sure I like it before I drop a bunch of coin on a gPhone…
Install is, well, weird.
See, there isn’t so much of an installer at the moment. It’s pretty bare.
I havnt tried it yet, but it looks like you could just copy it to your HD then have an entry in GRUB for it.
I know its on the todo.
