Does your Mom dual boot?
Today I pulled the Dell out of Mothballs, put a PSU in it, and gave it a good going over. The goal here was to get a computer in working order for my my sons grandma. nothing fancy – XP Home, the usual odds and ends. I decided as there is an hour drive between here and where the computer was going to be, it would be prudent to install a copy of Ubuntu along side XP. It should make troubleshooting non-booting XP just a hair easier. I even went as far as to give her a custom GRUB splash screen
